Basel besitzt zwei Botanische G\u00e4rten, die einander wunderbar erg\u00e4nzen. Heute will ich einen kleinen Bereich des Botanischen Gartens in Br\u00fcglingen (Merian Park), der am Stadtrand liegt, vorstellen. Es hat dort ein paar sehr interessante Sammlungen. Im Moment sind es u.a. die Paeonien, welche die Besucher anlocken und die ich nat\u00fcrlich zuerst besucht habe.<\/p>\n

Basel has two Botanical Gardens which complement each other very well. Today you’ll see a little part of the Botanical Garden Merian Park (in Br\u00fcglingen, located just a short distance from the city center). There you can find some interesting botanical collections. At the moment there are – amongst other things – the various peonies which attract visitors. And of course I wanted to see them too.<\/font><\/p>\n

Aber ich habe schon bald festgestellt, dass ich f\u00fcr gewisse Sorten zu sp\u00e4t und f\u00fcr alle Lactiflora Sorten zu fr\u00fch war.<\/p>\n

But I soon noticed that it was already too late for some peonies and for all the lactiflora sorts it was too early. <\/font><\/p>\n

Deshalb nur ein paar Schnappsch\u00fcsse von Exemplaren, die mir besonders gefallen haben und die ich sehr gerne im eigenen Garten h\u00e4tte \ud83d\ude09 ! Diese z.B. ist eine lactiflora x macrophylla<\/em> und heisst „Requiem“.<\/p>\n

Therefore I only made a few snapshots of peonies which I liked most and which I also would love to have in my own garden \ud83d\ude09 ! Above, a lactiflora x macrophylla<\/em> „Requiem“.<\/font><\/p>\n

Geht man weiter in der grossz\u00fcgigen Parkanlage, gelangt man zum Irisfeld, im Moment sicher die Hauptattraktion.<\/p>\n

When strolling through the spacious and colourful grounds, you’ll come to a meadow full of iris flowers. At the moment this is the main attraction. <\/font><\/p>\n

Hier wachsen von den rund 200 in der Natur vorkommenden Irisarten ungef\u00e4hr 120 Wildarten.<\/p>\n

Here about 120 sorts are growing (from about 200 existing).<\/font><\/p>\n

In allen m\u00f6glichen Farbschattierungen sind sie vorhanden.<\/p>\n

Ich beginne mich erst langsam mit dieser, auch im Aufbau recht interessanten, Pflanze anzufreunden. Im eigenen Garten sind mehr aus Zufall (da Geschenke) ein paar Irisgruppen.<\/p>\n

However I only get slowly acquainted with this interesting plant. Up to now I didn’t like this flower very much. And it is only by accident that some iris are growing in my garden too (gifts from friends). <\/font><\/p>\n

Auf der einen Seite des Irisfeldes erblickt man auch das sch\u00f6ne alte Wirschaftsgeb\u00e4ude (beherbergt heute ein Museum) …<\/p>\n

On one side of the iris meadow there is the two-storey farm building (now a museum) ….<\/font><\/p>\n

..nein, wir sind nicht irgendwo im S\u00fcden, sondern immer noch im Merian Park.<\/p>\n

…no, we are not in the South somewhere, but still in the Merian Park. <\/font><\/p>\n

Weiter geht es zum formal angelegten Garten vor der Orangerie.<\/p>\n

A little bit further and we are coming to the formal gardens in front of the Orangerie. <\/font><\/p>\n

Hier sind die verschiedensten Blumen und Heilpflanzen zu finden. Besonders gefallen mit nat\u00fcrlich Rosen und Mohn.<\/p>\n

A lot of various flowers and medicinal plants can be found here. Naturally I had to take a picture of the rose and the poppies.<\/font><\/p>\n

Dies ist die Orangerie mit der im franz\u00f6sischen Stil erbauten Gartenanlage, wo \u00fcber 450 Arten Arzneipflanzen wachsen. Dar\u00fcber, wie auch auch \u00fcber die Fuchsientreppe, die h\u00e4ngende Efeusammlung, den Clematisgarten u.a. mehr, werde ich irgendwann auch mal berichten. F\u00fcr heute muss dieser kurze Streifzug durch den Merian Park gen\u00fcgen.<\/p>\n

The Orangerie with the pharmacological garden, built in French style, where you can find more than 450 plant species. Some time or other I’ll post about it as well as the stairs with fuchsia plants, the hanging ivy collection, the clematis garden, etc. For today it was just a little and quick stroll in the Merian Park.<\/font><\/p>\n
