Seit Kindheit begleiten mich Pfingstrosen, die ja zu unseren \u00e4ltesten Kulturpflanzen geh\u00f6ren. Sie haben nicht nur wundersch\u00f6ne Bl\u00fcten, sie sind auch robuste, anspruchslose und langlebige Gartengew\u00e4chse. Ich liebe sie sehr und deshalb verdient meine noch winzige Sammlung der P. Lactiflora-Hybriden, die in diesem Monat gebl\u00fcht haben auch einen Beitrag. Ein paar im letzten und vorletzten Jahr gepflanzte Pfingstrosen lassen mich aber noch immer ungeduldig auf deren erste Bl\u00fcte warten….<\/p>\n

Since childhood I’m living with peonies (at that times they were in the garden of my parents), those plants with their long and fascinating history. They are spectacularly beautiful, long lasting and easy to grow garden plants. I love them very much and therefore my very small collection of peony lactiflora (they were blooming this month) deserves a post. However, I’m still waiting for the first flowers of some of the peonies I planted last year or the year before…. <\/font><\/p>\n

Zu Beginn meiner „Gartenkarriere“ waren es noch keine Pfingstrosen mit Namen (hier „Bowl of Beauty“<\/em>) und vorallem auch P. officinalis, die ich in diesem post weglasse wie auch die P. suffruticosa, welche bereits verbl\u00fcht sind.<\/p>\n

My peonies didn’t have names (here „Bowl of Beauty<\/em>„) in the beginning of my gardening „career.“ At that time I mostly had p.officinalis. This sort and the p. suffruticosa I don’t show in this post as they have already gone. <\/font><\/p>\n

Viele Wurzelst\u00fccke stammen aus dem Garten meiner Schwiegermutter, sind demzufolge \u00e4ltere Sorten.<\/p>\n

A lot of plants come from the garden of my mother in law who gave me some roots . So these peonies must be old sorts.

Aber mit der Zeit wollte ich auch wissen wie sie heissen. Die weisse duftende Sch\u00f6nheit ist „Duchesse de Nemours<\/em>„.<\/p>\n

But gradually I wanted to know their names. This white and scented beauty is „Duchesse de Nemours<\/em>„. <\/font><\/p>\n

Diese wiederum ist namenlos, aber trotzdem sch\u00f6n! Es ist eine alte Sorte aus dem Garten meiner Schwiegermutter.<\/p>\n

T<\/font>hough nameless, I love this big red\/pink beauty! It is an old plant from the garden of my mother in law.

Auch diese steht schon l\u00e4nger im Garten und ich weiss nicht mehr wie sie heisst.<\/p>\n

Also this one is growing in the garden for several years already but I don’t remember its name. <\/font><\/p>\n

Ganz oben die Unterlage einer Paeonie suffruticosa aber jetzt mit dem Habitus einer Paeonie Lactiflora und auf dem nachfolgenden Bild „Shirley Temple<\/em>„. Unten eine Bl\u00fcte der „Festiva Maxima<\/em>“ und die nachfolgende Pfingstrose hat ihr Namensschild durch den Wind verloren.<\/p>\n

On the top there is the former root plant of a peony suffruticosa which actually looks like a peony lactiflora. The next picture is „Shirley Temple<\/em>„. Below a bloom of „Festiva Maxima<\/em>“ and the second peony has lost its tag in the wind.<\/font><\/p>\n

Meine neueste Errungenschaft, eine Wildpaeonie, (p. x smouthii) deren Bl\u00fctenfarbe ich noch nicht kenne.<\/p>\n

My latest buy, a „peony x smouthii“. <\/em>I don’t know yet its colour. <\/font><\/p>\n

Die rote ist „Amabilis<\/em>“ und die weisse „Krinkled White<\/em>„, vom vielen Regen etwas angeschlagen.<\/p>\n

„Amabilis<\/em>“ is the dark pink peony and „Krinkled white<\/em>“ the white one (with little damages from the rain).
