Diesen Sommer war die Rosenbl\u00fcte eigentlich nicht sehr \u00fcppig. Vielleicht lag es auch daran, dass nicht alle meine Rosen mit Hornsp\u00e4nen versorgt und eigentlich insgesamt von mir etwas vernachl\u00e4ssigt wurden. Die Nachbl\u00fcte hat sich etwas verz\u00f6gert, bedingt auch durch das schlechte Wetter und dennoch bin ich jetzt wiederum erstaunt, wieviele Rosen im November noch bl\u00fchen und Kn\u00f6pfe haben (oben „The Fairy<\/em>„, die im Herbst immer ein etwas dunkleres Rosa hat als im Sommer).<\/p>\n

This summer wasn’t a very good rose year in my garden. Maybe it was my fault too, because I didn’t manage to feed all my roses with horn chips in Spring and all in all, I neglected them a little this year. The second rose bloom was delayed, probably also due to the bad weather conditions here. Nevertheless, I am astonished as every year how many roses actually are blooming or still having some buds (above „The Fairy<\/em>„, which always gets a darker pink in autumn).<\/font><\/p>\n

Nat\u00fcrlich ist es kein Bl\u00fctenreichtum mehr, aber f\u00fcr kleinere Str\u00e4usschen reicht es noch allemal ( „Pink Fairy<\/em>„).<\/p>\n

Of course there aren’t so many flowers now, but I still manage to make little bouquets („Pink Fairy“<\/em>). <\/font><\/p>\n

Die unverw\u00fcstliche „Leonardo da Vinci“,<\/em> zwar ohne Duft, aber zuverl\u00e4ssig was die Gesundheit angeht.<\/p>\n

„Leonardo da Vinci“ <\/em>is a tough rose without a fragrance but quite healthy<\/font>.<\/p>\n

Diese „Superstar“<\/em> habe ich noch aus meinem Schrebergarten vor \u00fcber 25 Jahren gez\u00fcgelt.<\/p>\n

This rose „Superstar<\/em>“ was moved from my allotment 25 years ago.<\/font><\/p>\n

Verschiedene Rosenkn\u00f6pfe, die sich wahrscheinlich nicht mehr \u00f6ffnen werden (von oben nach unten, „Queen Elizabeth<\/em>“ eine no-name Rose und „Schneewittchen“).<\/p>\n

„Evelyn<\/em>“ verstr\u00f6mt immer noch einen bet\u00f6renden Duft und „Astrid Lindgren“<\/em>\u00a0 (2. Bild) . Letztere habe ich gepflanzt, weil ich wie meine Kinder die B\u00fccher der Autorin so gerne las. Ausserdem ist sie eine sehr w\u00fcchsige, reich bl\u00fchende, ganz leicht duftende und gesunde Rose.<\/p>\n

„Evelyn“<\/em> which still has a delightful fragrance and „Astrid Lindgren<\/em>“ (2nd picture).\u00a0 I planted the last mentioned rose because my children and I loved to read her books. Besides, it is an easy growing,\u00a0 healthy rose with a lot of blooms and a very fine perfume. <\/font><\/p>\n

„Westerland“<\/em> zeigt auch noch, wie z\u00e4h sie ist, obwohl sie ohne Bl\u00e4tter dasteht.<\/p>\n

Even\u00a0 „Westerland“<\/em> wants to show its tenacity despite the lack of leaves.<\/font><\/p>\n

„Stanwell Perpetual“<\/em> ist jedes Jahr eine der ersten Rosen die in meinem Garten im Fr\u00fchling bl\u00fcht. Vielleicht will sie nun auch noch zu den letzten geh\u00f6ren \ud83d\ude09 ! Im Herbst bekommt sie ein zartes Rosa,\u00a0 im Sommer aber ist sie fast weiss. Sie z\u00e4hlt zu meinen Lieblingsrosen.<\/p>\n

Almost every year „Stanwell Perpetual“<\/em>\u00a0 is one of the first roses to bloom in my garden. Perhaps this rose now also wants to be the last one to do so \ud83d\ude09 ! In summer it has quite a white bloom and in autumn it turns to a light pink. This rose belongs to my favourites. <\/font><\/p>\n

Eine Ramblerrose, deren Namen ich vergessen habe und welche entlang des Zaunes von einem Nachbarn w\u00e4chst. Wir selbst haben keine Z\u00e4une und deshalb bin ich froh, dass ich die Nachbarsz\u00e4une nutzen darf….und beide Parteien haben etwas davon.<\/p>\n

A rambler rose whose name I forgot and which is growing on the fence of a neighbour.\u00a0 We do not have any fences therefore I am glad that the neighbour gave the permission to use his as a little help for my roses….and both sides enjoy the blooms. <\/font><\/p>\n

„William Shakespeare<\/em>“ macht sich immer gut als einzelne, lange Rose in einer Vase. Auch zu dieser Jahreszeit.<\/p>\n

„William Shakespeare<\/em>“ is the ideal rose for using as a single flower in a vase. Even at this time of the year.<\/font><\/p>\n

Ein aus einem Steckling gemachter Rosenstrauch, dessen Namen ich auch nicht kenne. Sie hat keinen Duft, ist aber ideal f\u00fcr das Binden kleiner Str\u00e4usschen. Sie nimmt es mir auch nicht \u00fcbel, dass sie unter einem Baum stehen muss und nur wenig Sonne abbekommt.<\/p>\n

I don’t know the name of this little rose shrub which I made from a cutting. The rose doesn’t have a fragrance but is wonderful for little bouquets.<\/font>\u00a0 And the plant doesn’t blame me for the bad growing place below a tree and the little sun it gets there.<\/font><\/p>\n

Eine meiner Nachbarinnen hat mir schon mehrmals Pflanzen gebracht, die bei ihr kr\u00e4nkeln oder nicht so recht gedeihen wollten. Da ich ja keine Pflanzen fortwerfen kann und gerne aufp\u00e4ppele, habe ich auch diese Rose genommen. Sie hat sich diesen Sommer wunderbar entwickelt und bl\u00fcht jetzt noch am Zaun zur Nachbarin….aber auf meiner Seite!! Es ist, wie ich festgestellt habe eine „New Dawn“<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On several occasions one of my neighbours gave me plants which were a little ill or didn’t want to grow properly. And as I cannot throw any plants away and like to take care of such problem plants, I also took this rose. During summer it grew quite well\u00a0 and now it is still blooming\u00a0 on the fence of the neighbour…but on my side of the garden!! I think it is a „New Dawn<\/em>„. <\/font><\/p>\n
