Helleborus ist f\u00fcr mich eine „Suchtpflanze“ (siehe<\/a>). Deshalb ist es auch verst\u00e4ndlich, dass an einer Ausstellung im Februar\u00a0\u00a0 wieder ein paar Exemplare in meinen Einkaufskorb geh\u00fcpft sind! Sozusagen ein versp\u00e4tetes Geburtstagsgeschenk, das ich mir selbst gab \ud83d\ude09 !<\/p>\n

I cannot help but I am hooked on hellebores ( see here<\/a> ). Therefore it was quite normal when visiting an exhibition in February, that some of the plants badly wanted to come home with me. A late birthday gift which I presented to myself \ud83d\ude09 ! \u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n

Die ersten paar Wochen blieben die Pflanzen noch in ihren T\u00f6pfen, sch\u00f6n gesch\u00fctzt an der Hauswand.<\/p>\n

For the first weeks, the plants remained in pots near the wall of the house. This was a sheltered place.

Ich wollte nicht nochmals den gleichen Fehler machen wie in den letzten Jahren, als ich die Sch\u00e4tze gleich nach dem Kauf in den Garten pflanzte.<\/p>\n

I didn’t want to make the same mistakes as in the years before when I planted the hellebores right after I had bought them. <\/font><\/p>\n

F\u00fcr diese eilige und un\u00fcberlegte Aktion habe ich mit einigen Verlusten bezahlen m\u00fcssen. Der Boden war n\u00e4mlich zu nass und zu kalt.<\/p>\n

I lost some of my plants due to this quick and rash action. The soil was too wet and too cold for them.<\/font><\/p>\n

Jetzt habe ich die Pflanzl\u00f6cher vorbereitet und vorallem auch den Platz gut ausgew\u00e4hlt.<\/p>\n

Now I’ve carfefully prepared the planting holes and also chosen the right place for them. <\/font><\/p>\n

Nebst hellen, ungef\u00fcllten sind nun auch dunkle gef\u00fcllte Sorten der Helleborus orientalis ins gleiche Beet gekommen. Vielleicht gef\u00e4llt es ihnen ja zusammen und es gibt dann mal eine neue Sorte ?<\/p>\n

The bright coloured and simple helleborus orientalis\u00a0 as well as the dark and double sorts now have found their place in the same gardenbed. Perhaps they’ll like their neighbourhood and a new sort might come out some time or other? <\/font><\/p>\n

Noch sehen die kleinen Pflanzen etwas verloren aus neben den grossen, schon gut eingewachsenen Horsten.<\/p>\n

The little plants still look a bit lost between all the other big and well growing tufts. <\/font><\/p>\n

In den letzten Jahren sind\u00a0 hier in der Schweiz auch vermehrt gef\u00fcllte Sorten auf dem Markt erschienen. Aber noch immer sind es nur ganz wenige G\u00e4rtnereien, die diese anbieten.<\/p>\n

The double helleborus orientalis could be bought in Switzerland too for the last couple of years. But unfortunately there still are a very few nurseries only, offering them .<\/font><\/p>\n

Das Betrachten der Bl\u00fcten braucht etwas Zeit. Erst auf den zweiten Blick offenbart sich oft ein unverwechselbares Detail.<\/p>\n

You need time to look carefully at the plants and compare the various blooms. Quite often a second look only reveals some distinctive details. <\/font><\/p>\n

Noch haben sich erst die einfachen Sorten bei mir im Garten selbst ausges\u00e4t. Ich bin gespannt, ob dies auch bei den gef\u00fcllten Helleborus geschehen wird. Nun heisst es abwarten und einmal mehr sich in Geduld \u00fcben.<\/p>\n

Up to now only the „ordinary“ sorts have self seeded. I’m curious to know whether the double hellebores will do it too. So let’s wait and see and be patient….once more.<\/font><\/p>\n
