In unserem Garten bl\u00fchen jetzt die Kamelien. Ich habe zwei Pflanzen auf der Ostseite des Hauses gepflanzt und die restlichen f\u00fcnf stehen in T\u00f6pfen und sind, da noch junge Pflanzen, im Winter auf der gesch\u00fctzten Terrasse. Ein Teil davon wird demn\u00e4chst auch in ein Beet (leicht saure Erde Ph-Wert 5,5-6) verpflanzt.<\/p>\n

In our garden the camellias are now blooming. I have two plants in a bed on the eastern side of the house and the other five still small camellias actually have their „home“ in containers which, during winter, find a sheltered place on the terrace. In due time I’ll plant some of them in a bed too (they need a slightly acid soil, Ph 5,5-6).\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n

Anfangs dieses Monats waren wir im Tessin und haben dort die vielen sch\u00f6nen Kamelien in den G\u00e4rten und \u00f6ffentlichen Anlagen, die z.T. seit Dezember bl\u00fchen, bewundert. Wir besuchten dann auch die bekannte Baumschule von Otto Eisenhut, wo wir wundersch\u00f6ne und riesige Kamelienb\u00fcsche (man k\u00f6nnte schon sagen B\u00e4ume) und auch viele verschiedene Magnolien zu sehen bekamen. Fotografiert habe ich aber vorallem Kamelien.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of this month we stayed a few days in the Italian part of Switzerland, called Tessin (there we have a mild and perfect climate for growing camellias) and enjoyed seeing all the beautiful camellias\u00a0 in the gardens and parks which were blooming there, some of them since December already. We also visited the famous tree-nursery of Otto Eisenhut, who is well-known for its camellias and magnolias (some of the camelias are huge shrubs, almost trees I would say).<\/font><\/p>\n

You could see so many\u00a0 differents sorts, such as e.g. the variegated ones…<\/font><\/p>\n

others turning from a light pink to white… <\/font><\/p>\n

anemonenf\u00f6rmig, mit einer oder mehr Reihen aus \u00e4usseren Petalen und im Zentrum mit Petaloiden und Staubgef\u00e4ss (Camelia japonica Yamato Nishiki Rosa<\/em>),<\/p>\n

those having the form of an anemone with one or several rows of petals and in the center with petaloids and stamen<\/font> (this camellia is named Camellia japonica Yamato Nishiki Rosa<\/em>),<\/font><\/p>\n

zweifarbig mit den weissen Petaloiden,<\/p>\n

two-coloured with white petaloids, <\/font><\/p>\n

mit einem Hauch rot am Bl\u00fctenrand (pfingstrosenf\u00f6rmig),<\/p>\n

or having a touch of red at the edge of the bloom and looking like a peony,<\/font><\/p>\n

die einfache ungef\u00fcllte mit auffallender Stamina (Staubgef\u00e4ss),<\/p>\n

the simple plain one with a noticeable stamen,<\/font><\/p>\n

die dicht gef\u00fcllte, fast einer Dahlien \u00e4hnlich (und mit unsichtbarer Stamina),<\/p>\n

wiederum pfingstrosenf\u00f6rmig (und verborgener Stamina)\u00a0 und riesengrosser Bl\u00fcte (diese kam \u00fcbrigens mit nach Hause als kleine Pflanze und tr\u00e4gt den Namen Elegant Champagne<\/em>),<\/p>\n

and again a peony form (with a hidden stamen)\u00a0 and a big flower (a very little plant of this Elegant Champagne, <\/em>came home with me),<\/font><\/p>\n

kleine Bl\u00fcten, die aussahen wie Gl\u00f6ckchen…<\/p>\n

tiny blooms looking like little bells, <\/font><\/p>\n

rosenf\u00f6rmig gef\u00fcllt und noch unz\u00e4hlig viele andere Sch\u00f6nheiten, die ich fotografiert habe, aber den Rahmen dieses posts sprengen w\u00fcrden.<\/p>\n
