Und schon ist wieder ein Monat vorbei. Wenn immer ich konnte, habe ich in meinem Dschungel gearbeitet. Verschiedene „Baustellen“ sind vorhanden. Ich mag einfach nicht tagelang am gleichen Ort j\u00e4ten…<\/p>\n

And again another month is finished. Whenever I had some time left, I was working in my jungle. There are various „areas needing improvement“ as\u00a0 I do not like to weed in the same place for days…. <\/span><\/p>\n

Taglilien waren die Blumen des Monats. Jahrelang hatte ich bloss drei Sorten in den fr\u00fcher hier erh\u00e4ltlichen und \u00fcblichen Farben, orange und gelb. Aber seit ca. vier Jahren halte ich Ausschau nach weiteren, f\u00fcr den intelligenten faulen G\u00e4rtner (gem\u00e4ss Foerster) ja so bequemen und sehr h\u00fcbschen Pflanzen. Mittlerweilen sind um die 20 verschiedene Sorten im Garten und es werden deren immer mehr. Ich durfte in diesem Monat \u00fcbrigens auch einen wundersch\u00f6nen Garten<\/a> besuchen, auf 1300m H\u00f6he, in welchem gerade die Taglilien bl\u00fchten. Die sehr sympathische Besitzerin z\u00fcchtet u.a.\u00a0 diese Sch\u00f6nheiten .<\/p>\n

Daylilies were the flowers of the month. For years I only had three different sorts, those you could buy here and they usually were in orange or yellow. But about four years ago I started to look for differets sorts and in the meantime there are around 20 plants in the garden and probably there will be even more in due time. I like this flower which is considered as the plant for intelligent lazy gardeners. This month I also had the chance to visit a very special and beautiful garden<\/a> in the mountains (1300m altitude) where the daylilies were in full bloom. The owner, a very nice lady, is breeding these flowers too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohnkapseln, bzw. deren Samen wurden gesammelt f\u00fcr eine hoffentlich reiche Bl\u00fcte im n\u00e4chsten Jahr.<\/p>\n

It was time to collect the pods, i.e. the seeds of poppies, in the hope to get a lot of flowers next year again. <\/span><\/p>\n

Das gleiche gilt f\u00fcr die Bechermalven (Lavetera trimestris<\/em>), die \u00fcbrigens ein grosser Anziehungspunkt f\u00fcr die diversen Schmetterlinge sind.<\/p>\n

The same I did with Lavatera trimestris<\/em> which, by the way, attracts very much the various butterflies. <\/span><\/p>\n

Herbstanemonen im Juli? Etwas v\u00f6llig Neues f\u00fcr mich. Hoffentlich bedeutet diese fr\u00fche Bl\u00fcte nicht auch ein fr\u00fchzeitiger Herbst!<\/p>\n

These anemones (anemone hupehensis<\/em>) are blooming in July? Something quite new to me. I do hope this doesn’t induce an early beginning of autumn! <\/span><\/p>\n

Wenn ich aber die bereits bl\u00fchenden Herbstastern, die vielen halbreifen am Boden liegenden Zwetschgen und die langsam sich dunkel f\u00e4rbenden Holunderbeeren anschaue, dann ist dies doch zu bef\u00fcrchten, sind doch gerade reife Holunderbeeren ein typisches Zeichen f\u00fcr den Sp\u00e4tsommer. Haben wir den schon anfangs-mitte Juli?<\/p>\n

However, when looking at the „aster novae-angliae<\/em>“ which just started to bloom, at all the half ripe damsons, lying on the ground and all the elderberries slowly getting black, then I’m a bit concerned. I once learned that ripe elderberries are a typical indicator for late summer. Do we have this „season“ now in the beginning and mid of July already?<\/span><\/p>\n

Am Abend draussen sitzen, wenn man zu m\u00fcde zum Werkeln im Garten ist und die verschiedenen Stimmungen geniessen, …das sind die kleinen Gl\u00fccksmomente. Die Agapanthusbl\u00fcte ist \u00fcbrigens schon vorbei und die Pflanzen zeigen sich jetzt nur noch im gr\u00fcnen Kleid.<\/p>\n

In the evening when I am too tired to work in the garden, I like to sit outside and enjoy the varying moods … these are short moments of pure happiness. By the way the flowers of the agapanthus have already faded and the plant is just green now. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ein weiterer Gl\u00fcckszufall, ich konnte sehr g\u00fcnstig Austin Rosen erwerben, da am Schluss einer Ausstellung von Pflanzent\u00f6pfen alles zum halben Preis verkauft wurde. Nun habe ich, in Anbetracht des tiefen Preises, nochmals einen Anlauf mit acht neuen englischen Rosensch\u00f6nheiten (bis anhin war ich in meinem Garten nicht sehr erfolgreich mit Englischen Rosen) gemacht. Sozusagen auch als Belohnung f\u00fcr das „Schuften“ in einem total verwilderten Gartenteil \ud83d\ude09 ! Nachstehend „Anne Boleyn“, eine meiner neuen Englischen Rosen.<\/p>\n

Another lucky punch: I had the chance to buy Austin roses for quite a good price, as the plants were on sale (half price) at the end of an exhibition for flowerpots. Up to now I wasn’t very successful with English Roses ( in my garden they turned out to be quite delicate) so this will be another go with eight new plants . In a way this buy is a little reward for my hard work in my unkempt garden \ud83d\ude09 ! Below „Anne Boleyn“, one of my new English Roses. <\/span><\/p>\n

Und wenn ich schon beim Stichwort Gl\u00fcck bin, so reihe ich die bevorstehenden Urlaubstage ebenfalls in diese Kategorie ein. Es geht auf in unsere sch\u00f6nen Berge. Ich w\u00fcnsche euch\u00a0 frohe und sonnige Augusttage!<\/p>\n
