Auf verschiedene Anfragen von Blogleserinnen wie man denn Stecklinge mache, m\u00f6chte ich mit diesem Post antworten. Es gibt sehr gute Beschreibungen in B\u00fcchern und im Internet und auch verschiedene Vorgehensweisen. Hier zeige ich einfach wie ich es pers\u00f6nlich seit vielen Jahren mache und es gelingt eigentlich meistens. Im Bild oben ist der Rosenpavillon (Bild vom Juni), der mit zwei Stecklingen des Ramblers Maria Lisa \u00fcberdeckt ist. Unz\u00e4hlige Rosen habe ich f\u00fcr meinen Garten, den Garten meiner Schwiegermutter und f\u00fcr Geschenke „bewurzelt“. Die beste Zeit f\u00fcr Stecklinge ist \u00fcbrigens bei uns von Juni bis August, wenn sich neues „Holz“ als Arbeitsmaterial anbietet.<\/p>\n

Some of the readers asked me how I take my rose cuttings. So here is the answer. However, there are a lot of very\u00a0 good descriptions in books or in the internet. Here you just see my way of doing it. A lot of roses so found their way to my garden\u00a0 or to the one of my MIL and I also „made“ a lot of gifts with rooted cuttings. The above pink rose, meanwhile covering the rose pavillon, is taken of two cuttings of\u00a0 the rambler „Maria Lisa“ (picture from June).<\/span> Besides the best time for cuttings in my garden is from June to August when I have enough material of this season’s growth.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Ich nehme jeweils einen\u00a0 (oder mehrere Zweige !) von ca. 40-50 cm (diesen erbitte ich auch oft bei Bekannten oder Freunden welche Rosen besitzen die mir auch gefallen \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 ).<\/p>\n

I usually take a stem (or several ones!) of about 40 -50 cm which I beg from friends who have roses that I’d like to have\u00a0 in my garden too \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 ).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Diesen Zweig teile ich dann in zwei St\u00fccke, indem ich darauf achte, dass sie mindestens je drei bis vier Augen haben.<\/p>\n

Cut this stem into two pieces and be sure that each of it has got at least three to four pushing buds.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Alles wird entbl\u00e4ttert. Manchmal lasse ich auch ein Blatt stehen und zwar das oberste.<\/p>\n

Take the leaves off. Sometimes I also leave one leaf at the top and remove all the lower ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Risslinge sind auch gut geeignet f\u00fcr die Bewurzelung (besonders bei anderen Pflanzen wie z.B. Hortensien). Vom Eintauchen in Hormonpulver sehe ich ab, nachdem ich keinen Unterschied im Gelingen der Bewurzelung festgestellt habe.<\/p>\n

Teared off stems are suitable for rooting too (especially with regard to other plants like hydrangeas). I do not need\u00a0 hormone rooting powder anymore, as I couldn’t see any difference in the rooting process.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Dann werden die Stecklinge in einen hohen Topf mit Aussaaterde (da ist der Anteil Sand h\u00f6her als bei gew\u00f6hnlicher Blumenerde)\u00a0 gesteckt, wobei ich darauf achte, dass mindestens zwei Augen\u00a0 in der Erde sind. Aus diesen Augen entwickeln sich ja die Wurzeln. Der Topf wird vor Sonne gesch\u00fctzt aufbewahrt, am besten im Halbschatten.<\/p>\n

All the cuttings are inserted in a large pot with soil\u00a0 that is enriched with sand (the same soil I use for my seeds!). Be sure that at least two third of the stems are covered with soil.The pushing buds will develop the future roots. Store the pot in a place with partial shade.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Eine abgeschnittene\u00a0 2 Liter PET-Flasche (sie ist sch\u00f6n breit und gross, aber ich hatte gerade keine zur Hand und nahm hier eine kleinere) wird \u00fcber die Stecklinge gest\u00fclpt (Treibhauseffekt) . Nicht vergessen, die Erde immer sch\u00f6n feucht halten\u00a0 (nicht zu nass, sonst werden die Stecklinge schwarz und der Versuch ist gescheitert) !<\/p>\n

Take a big PET bottle and put it over the cuttings (this will keep the humidity constant inside the bottle).Do not forget to keep the soil moist. If it is too wet the cuttings will turn black and the rooting fails.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Und dann ist Warten angesagt. Nach ca.\u00a0 f\u00fcnf Wochen, wenn der Steckling immer noch sch\u00f6n gr\u00fcn ist, darf man hoffen, dass der Versuch gelingt. So ungef\u00e4hr nach zwei Monaten kommen langsam winzige Bl\u00e4ttchen aus den Augen, ein Zeichen, dass sich auch Wurzeln bilden. Dann kommt die Petflasche weg, denn die Bl\u00e4ttchen brauchen jetzt Platz. Die oben gezeigten Stecklinge sind anfangs Juni geschnitten worden und haben nun viele frische Bl\u00e4tter gebildet. Noch lasse ich das Ganze im Topf und \u00fcberwintere ihn an einem gesch\u00fctzten Ort. N\u00e4chsten Fr\u00fchling kommen die Rosen dann in den Garten oder werden verschenkt.<\/p>\n

Now you have to be patient and wait. If the cuttings still look fresh and green after about five weeks, you may hope that the process of rooting will succeed. Later, after about two months, the first tiny leaves come out. Then it’s quite sure that the cutting starts to root. At this time you remove the bottle as the growing leaves need space.\u00a0 The above picture shows my rose cuttings taken in the beginning of June this year. They already have a lot of fresh green leaves. However, I still keep the tiny\u00a0 plants in the pot until next Spring.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Genau gleich verfahre ich mit Stecklingen von anderen Pflanzen. Dieser Steckling ist eine Tellerhortensie vom Herbst vergangenen Jahres. Sie hat bereits zwei wundersch\u00f6ne Bl\u00fcten gezeigt und wird noch (zur Sicherheit) im Topf \u00fcberwintert und dann im n\u00e4chsten Fr\u00fchling in meinem Garten ausgepflanzt.<\/p>\n

The same way I take cuttings from other plants. The above cutting i.e. is a hydrangea, taken last autumn. This summer it already had two lovely blooms. I’ll still keep the plant in the pot and overwinter it in a sheltered place. Next year I’ll then plant it in a gardenbed.<\/span><\/p>\n
